Brent
Hello! Meet Brent, a three year old shorthaired cat. Brent may be three years old, but he has a lot of kitten playfulness in him. Brent is very energetic and inquisitive. Brent did not give off the 'lap cat' impression, but being a tom cat he would enjoy a warm lap from time to time.
Brent's ID# is A1639055. If you would like to come visit Brent and see if he is the right cat for you, bring the ID# to the personnel in the lobby and they will direct you to Brent's kennel. Brent is currently at the Eastside animal shelter and would love to go home with you.

Thunder
Hello. This is Thunder, a 2 year old female domestic medium hair cat. Thunder is love bug. She is also a trained house cat. Thunder came to the shelter because her previous owners were moving. When I met Thunder, she was shy at first and gave me some high pitched mews!
Although shy at first, Thunder and I made an instant connection when I began to scratch her behind the ears. She did not mind when I picked her up and took her to a bonding room. I held her for a while and then set her down. Being in a new place she enjoyed being under the chair for a few minutes and then started to explore. Thunder is the mixture of many cats. She has Himalayan type fur and a bit of orange cat in the lower right corner of her face.
After exploring a while, I picked Thunder up and set her on my lap. She immediately sat down and put her head on my knee. She liked curling up in my lap and resting, and stayed there for about 20 minutes. She would get up and fuss a little-which seemed to be an indication that she has been attention starved. And in a way she has. Going from a comfortable home to the shelter would surprise any cat. With the way she warmed up to me and sat on my lap, it would be a fair assessment to say she would warm up nicely to a new home. Thunder is currently at the Eastside shelter with ID# A1641114. If you come to visit Thunder, bring the ID# to the lobby personnel and they will direct you to Thunder's kennel.
Jackson
Hi! This is Jackson, a four year old Chinese Sharpei mix. Jackson is a calm dog. He did very well on a leash. I used a treat to teach him how to sit, and he responded well to my instructions. Jackson keeps his kennel very clean a sign that he is house trained.
Jackson is also very attentive. For some information on the Chinese sharpe breed, check out the American Kennel Club website at http://www.akc.org/breeds/chinese_shar_pei/. Click here for some fun facts.
Jackson's ID# is A1633390. He is located at the Eastside animal shelter.

Bubba
Meet Bubba, a four year old male Anatolian shepherd dog. Bubba is fun loving dog that was super excited to get out of his kennel and stretch his legs. Anatolian shepherds are part of the working group of dogs per the American Kennel Club (see http://www.akc.org/breeds/anatolian_shepherd_dog/)
According to the AKC, they originated in Turkey and were bred to be shepherd and guard dogs. They are loyal and good with children but need some supervision "around them in case they interpret rough plas as a need to guard 'his' child." Anatolians were also bred to make independent decisions while herding and can be a little slow in responding to commands. For more info follow the link to the ACK website given above.
Bubba enjoyed being out. He is good with the leash. Being a big dog, he does need to be held firmly on the leash. If you are interested in meeting Bubba, come to the eastside shelter. Take his ID# (A1573852) to one of the staff in the shelter lobby. They will point you to Bubba's kennel.
